Under the action of an electric field, chlorine gas (Cl2) is generated at the anode, hydrogen gas (H2) at the cathode, and Cl2 further reacts with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) in the solution to form NaClO, providing an oxidant for marine biofouling control.
