Working Principle
The BSHH-1000 operates based on the integration of electrochemical and chemical reactions, with a full-process flow tailored for stability and efficiency:1. Water Pretreatment: Process water undergoes multi-media filtration, water softening, and reverse osmosis to remove impurities and calcium-magnesium ions, producing pure water that is stored in a pure water tank for subsequent use-this prevents membrane contamination or damage in the electrolyzer.
2. Saturated Brine Purification: Purchased finished salt is mixed with water in a salt saturation tank to form saturated brine. The brine then goes through 1st and 2nd purification processes: the primary purification uses Doyle-type clarification tanks to degrade non-sodium chloride ions, while the secondary purification reduces ions like calcium, magnesium, iron, strontium, and nickel to levels acceptable for the ion membrane .
3. Membrane Electrolysis: Pure sodium chloride solution enters the membrane electrolyzer. At the anode, chlorine gas (Cl2) is generated as chlorine loses electrons; at the cathode, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and hydrogen gas (H2) are produced as sodium ions pass through the PFSA membrane unidirectionally and combine with hydroxyl ions. A transformer rectifier converts AC power to DC power to supply the electrolyzer .
3. Sodium Hypochlorite Synthesis: Chlorine gas from the anode is absorbed by a vacuum generator and flows into the reaction chamber, where it mixes with sodium hydroxide from the cathode to form sodium hypochlorite solution. A heat exchange system in the reaction module ensures the reaction occurs at the correct temperature, avoiding sodium chlorate formation .
4. Circulation & Recycling: The anolyte recycle system splits chlorine gas and depleted brine-chlorine enters the synthesis tower, while depleted brine is either re-electrolyzed or sent to the dechlorination tower. The catholyte recycle system distributes sodium hydroxide to the synthesis tower and recirculates the remainder to the cathode. The depleted brine recycle system removes chlorine from NaCl and recycles the chlorine-free NaCl.
Application Scenarios
Municipal Tap Water Treatment: Used for disinfection in urban water supply plants, effectively killing viruses, bacteria, and algae in raw water, and preventing the formation of chloroform and other carcinogens caused by excessive oxidation of organic matter by traditional chlorine gas.
Municipal Wastewater Reuse: Suitable for disinfection of reclaimed water in municipal wastewater treatment plants, ensuring the safety of reclaimed water for landscape irrigation, road cleaning, and other non-potable uses.
